WANTED: Editor in chief for symmetry magazine

Particle physics magazine seeks creative, experienced science writer and editor. Strong background in online and print publications required. Must love muons, quarks and neutrinos.Ability to travel faster than the speed of light a plus.

Symmetry is changing things up. We’re looking for new leadership to help the magazine transition to a new format and become a primarily web-based publication.

Starting in early 2012, symmetry will transition to a new online format with original content every month and will publish two print issues a year. Symmetry breaking will continue to deliver breaking news and other special interest stories, and the website will get a makeover to give the blog a more prominent role. Our history of great graphic design both online and in print will continue, and we’re working on a mobile version as well.

Based in California at SLAC, the new editor will work with our professional design team and staff at both Fermilab and SLAC to launch the new format and to lead the production of the magazine on an ongoing basis. A complete job description is available online.
