The movie "Angels & Demons," released earlier this year in theaters, was released yesterday in the UK on Blu-ray and DVD (US fans will have to wait until November 24).  Particle physics fans now have another chance to watch Hollywood's take on CERN, the Large Hadron Collider and the ATLAS experiment during the first few minutes of the film.  The Blu-ray also includes a bonus for science fans: "CERN: Pushing the Frontiers of Knowledge", a featurette about the European particle physics laboratory and its flagship project, the Large Hadron Collider.

And for those wanting to delve even deeper into the science behind the movie, check out the selection of virtual "Angels & Demons: The Science Revealed" lectures on the US LHC Web site.

Update: Symmetry has learned that the CERN extra is included only on the UK "Angels & Demons" Blu-ray, not the DVD. The text and title of this article was changed September 21 to reflect the correct information. We believe that the European (coming in October) and US versions of the DVD and Blu-ray will include the CERN extra, but will post another update when the information is confirmed.
